Academic Conference 2018
2018 marks the 100 year anniversary of the Armistice of World War One
In 2015 the Century of Stories project set a challenge to local historians and academics.
Could they uncover previously undiscovered research about World War One and share this research in a way that is accessible and relevant to our local communities?
Excellent applications were received from around the world and a selection panel decided upon seven topics.
The researchers are now preparing to share their findings and they will be presented at a special event on the 9th November at TheVenue, De Montfort University.
The event will be opened by Professor Jackie Labbe from DMU, hosted by Robin Jenkins, Senior Archivist for the Record Office of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and closed by Colonel Murray Colville, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire.
There will be a buffet lunch and the opportunity to talk to the researchers, alongside stalls and displays about the topics and WW1.
